Three Way is a film centered around a day in the life of Sybil (Annalaina Marks), a rigid and conservative young woman who has recently become engaged to Jackson (Brad Gallagher), the man of her dreams, a handsome, charming and successful man who provides the life she has dreamed of. On this fateful day, Sybil rises early to meet with a client and deliver a presentation she’s spent month’s preparing, a meeting that would catapult her career to the next level.
While gathering her things to get dressed, she finds an earring under the sofa behind her shoe. Devastated to learn of Jackson’s infidelity, Sybil gathers all of the strength inside of her to confront the situation and the fact that she is a fool for believing she was finally safe. When Jackson wakes to discover that Sybil is aware of his affair, he contemplates what to do. Believing Sybil to be at work early as usual, Jackson heads into his living room to find her waiting for him. Stunned and speechless he pleads for her understanding, to no avail. Soon tempers fly and the truth comes out. Jackson, has long since been unsatisfied with Sybil’s uptight and repressed personality. She is no longer the woman he fell in love with. Sybil storms out after a heated argument to find that she has missed the meeting, been fired and her boss is not accepting her calls.
Her last resort is to rely on a father who was never there for her to get answers regarding Jackson. While waiting for her father, who never shows, Sybil has a chance run-in with a young, carefree, fun and kind waitress, Jasmine (Zuyapa Jackson). Their interaction as customer and waitress starts out tense and argumentative but soon Sybil realizes that Jasmine is the only person who has shown her a bit of consideration. While waiting impatiently at the bar, Sybil becomes mesmerized by Jasmine’s vibrant energy and outlook on life. Fed up with waiting and being let down once again, she exits the bar and breaks the heel of the same shoe which led her to the earring. Ending her shift, Jasmine sees Sybil outside and begins to feel compassion for her pain. Again, she attempts to console Sybil and figure out what’s upsetting her. Though not willing to discuss it, Sybil agrees to go to Jasmine’s apartment upstairs from the bar while she waits for her father and the answers she longs for.
The two women soon learn that they have more in common than they once thought. They’ve both become the opposites of who they once were and fled the lives they lived with their families. Day quickly fades into night as the two women form a bond. Sybil spends the night with Jasmine and wakes with a renewed sense of self. She leaves the apartment to deal with her life but doesn’t see that she’s overlooked the match to the earring she found at Jackson’s apartment…
